They Say Real Estate Slows Down During the Wintertime, But it Doesn’t Have To…

Ring the Bell Realty • Dec 12, 2018

You always hear how the market slows down during the winter, but we personally haven’t experienced a slow winter yet! Here are a few reasons why it isn’t a bad idea to go ahead and get your home on the market or to continue your home search during the cold months.

  • Sellers : Most people have the misconception that they will wait to put their home on the market in the spring because they think there aren’t many buyers during the winter. In fact, there are still a ton of people looking, and they actually may be more serious and ready to buy! You won’t have nearly as many other listings to compete with, either, so your home moves right up to the top of buyers’ lists, purely out of necessity.
  • Buyers:  We all know that this past year has been a sellers’ market, and if you’ve been watching Zillow at all, houses are under due diligence or pending within just days of being on the market. Something that may give you a competitive edge is that you might get a better deal in more ways than one. The sellers who had their home on the market through the summer market and hadn’t sold it yet are probably pretty motivated. This could mean the possibility for a good deal, whether it be a lower purchase price or more assistance in closing costs. Some more good news: interest rates might be lower during the holidays!

Let’s heat up the market this winter! Call us at Ring the Bell Realty today to find your home.
